Ben Hur

Based on the novel by General Lew Wallace
Adapted by Patrick Barlow
Barn Theatre
4 Mar - 18 April 2020

"Lovely long sandals doth he wear..."

Self-styled actor/director/writer/producer/choreographer/stuntman Daniel Veil sits on the precipice of greatness. He has invested everything he has; money, time and energy into one last theatrical throw of the dice. The full retelling of the ancient and epic story of Judah Ben-Hur, the prince and merchant turned galley slave who rises to charioteering greatness during the time of Jesus Christ. The script is (barely) written, the stage is (almost) set, what could possibly go wrong?

Featuring an authentic sea battle (with added water!), a spectacular recreation of ancient Rome and the final climactic chariot race in all it's glory, Patrick Barlow's zany farce throws all common sense and good taste out of the window in it's quest to tell the greatest story ever told.
