" I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet glows...
There sleeps Titania, sometime of the night,
Lulled in these flowers with dances and delight."

As four lovers flee to the forest to escape the harsh rulings of their elders, a gaggle of local tradesmen gather in a clearing to rehearse a play. But the King and Queen of the fairies are feuding, and soon chaos and mayhem will rule the night. Featuring some of Shakespeare's greatest lines and most loved characters, A Midsummer Night's Dream is a hilarious and magical adventure where nothing is ever as it seems.

Scoot Theatre's hilariously frenetic 60 minute dash through the story combined live music, song, a dash of magic and lots of silliness. Rehearsed and performed under social distancing at the very end of the first UK lockdown, it played to over 2500 people at local cricket pitches in the south-east, uniting families and communities who hadn't connected in many months and drawing critical acclaim.
